After adjusting for patient and hospital characteristics, PAA+/PSC+, PAA+/PSC-, and PAA-/PSC+ hospitals had 3.15 (95% confidence intervals 2.86-3.47); 3.23 (2.93-3.56), and 1.72 (1.47-2.00) higher odds of adhering to stroke care guidelines, respectively, than hospitals that had neither recognition, wrote Gregg C. Fonarow, MD, of the University of California Los Angeles, and his co-authors in the Oct. 15 issue of the Journal of the American Heart Association.
Mayo Clinic's world-renowned stroke teams include doctors trained in blood vessel and brain conditions (cerebrovascular neurologists), brain blood vessel imaging (endovascular surgical neuroradiologists), blood vessel brain surgery (vascular neurosurgeons), physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatrists), emergency medicine, and other subspecialists who work together to provide exactly the care you need.
Around the clock care is ideal for someone coming home from the hospital after surgery, suffering from a debilitating condition such as a stroke, or someone with Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related conditions and is at risk when left alone unattended. Around-the-clock care is also a good option for family caregivers who need a break or will be away on vacation. Some families even opt for around-the-clock care to ensure their loved one has someone to assist them with the activities of everyday life, to escort them to appointments and outings and to provide care and support as required.
tPA improves the chances of recovering from a stroke. Studies show that patients with ischemic strokes who receive tPA are more likely to recover fully or have less disability than patients who do not receive the drug.2,3 Patients treated with tPA are also less likely to need long-term care in a nursing home.4 Unfortunately, many stroke victims don’t get to the hospital in time for tPA treatment. This is why it’s so important to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke right away and call 9-1-1.

For medical help such as changing dressings, providing post-surgical rehabilitation, overseeing medications, aiding with physical therapy, or helping with mobility devices, you'll want home health care provided by caregiver who's gone through training and is being supervised by a nurse. (Keep in mind that licensing and certification requirements vary by state; you'll want to ask lots of questions about your caregiver's qualifications.)
I go to an assigned clients house. I begin the day by making breakfast and starting laundry, after breakfast I wash the dishes. I usually sit with the client for awhile after that set up medicine and remind them to take it then ask what the plan for the day is. Go to grocery or run errands for the client if needed, I hang up laundry , vacuum, clean bathroom and take out trash. Every client has different needs. My days aren't the same all the time.
