Population ageing is a challenge across the world, and China is no exception. Due to the one-child policy, rural/urban migration and other social changes, the traditional long-term care (LTC) for the elderly which was through direct family care in the past will no longer suffice. Barely existent now, both institutional and community-based services are expanding to meet the growing need. China is still at an earlier stage in economic development and will be challenged to build these services and train staff.[37]
Thank you for assisting our son get his life back under control. When he came out of the hospital I didn't know what to do with him. Your personal interest and that of all the staff and residents at Best Personal Care made him welcome and gave him structure and community he didn't have living on his own. Unlike other places our son has been, I have heard practically no complaints from him about the staff, the food or the other residents.

Ischemic strokes are the most common. They occur when an artery is blocked and blood flow to the brain is stopped. Caused by build-ups of fatty deposits on the inside of an artery wall which then becomes completely clogged. Ischemic strokes account for eighty percent of all strokes suffered. Some ischemic strokes are preceded by stroke-like symptoms called transient ischemic attacks (TIAs). These may occur months before the stroke. The loss of vision in a TIA may be described as a feeling that a shade is being pulled down over your eyes. The symptoms are usually temporary and improve within 10 to 20 minutes.
Traditionally, care for older adults has been the responsibility of family members and was provided within the extended family home.[6] Increasingly in modern societies, care is now being provided by state or charitable institutions.[6] The reasons for this change include decreasing family size, greater life expectancy, the geographical dispersion of families, and the tendency for women to be educated and work outside the home.[6] Although the changes have affected European and North American countries first, they are now increasingly affecting Asian countries as well.[7]

tPA improves the chances of recovering from a stroke. Studies show that patients with ischemic strokes who receive tPA are more likely to recover fully or have less disability than patients who do not receive the drug.2,3 Patients treated with tPA are also less likely to need long-term care in a nursing home.4 Unfortunately, many stroke victims don’t get to the hospital in time for tPA treatment. This is why it’s so important to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke right away and call 9-1-1.

“If a patient does experience the symptoms of a stroke, it is vital to receive appropriate clinical assessment and scanning in hospital early to confirm it is a blockage of a blood vessel. Patients are then referred to our interventional lab in Beaumont Hospital, the main route to thrombectomy. We will do an endovascular procedure, puncturing the artery and groin to pass a tube in the blood vessels up to the neck and head. Through the tube, we place a stent retriever, which pulls the blood clot out, restoring blood flow to the brain tissue.
Before the inspection, we reviewed the information we held about the service. This included the previous inspection report and notifications since the last inspection. Notifications are changes, events and incidents that the service must inform us about. We used information the provider sent us in the Provider Information Return (PIR). This is information we require providers to send us at least once annually to give some key information about the service, what the service does well and improvements they plan to make.
